2010 Arts In Minnesota (AIM) Summer Programs Guide

The Perpich Center for Arts Education will be publishing the 24th annual AIM summer program guide this year. This guide of diverse opportunities is compiled from responses to a listing request distributed to arts and education organizations throughout Minnesota.

You can access an online AIM database for direct entry of your program listings. While providing a more efficient method of entry, the database should also reduce entry errors.

PLEASE NOTE: We will no longer mail printed copies of the guide. In addition to the published online database, a PDF version of the guide will be available for download.

A few things to note prior to using the online AIM Guide:

  • You may want to print this page for future reference or open the database in a new window (keeping this page open for reference.)
  • You can use any browser such as Netscape or Internet Explorer, however the layout appears disorderly in some versions.
  • The system running the database creates the web pages that you will be using for entry. Because of this, please do not use your browser's "Back" and "Forward" buttons. If you do, you'll be returned to the previous database page and prompted for action.
  • Enter a separate listing for each program you would like listed in the AIM guide.
  • If you're entering multiple listings, you can copy the majority of fields from one record to a new record. Use the COPY RECORD button on the first page of the entry form. Clicking the COPY RECORD button will create a new record with all Sponsor, Contact and Site information intact. You'll also find a few COPY FROM SPONSOR buttons to copy demographic information.
  • The system will disconnect you if there isn't any activity for 10 minutes. If this happens during a listing entry, the entry will be lost. Previously entered listings are not affected.
  • You can download this printable, PDF file PDFDataForm.pdf for listing entry reference, or if you would prefer to mail or fax a hard copy of your listing.

AIM Database Instructions

  1. Click on the AIM database links on this page to gain access.
  2. You should be prompted for a username and password to access the system. Enter GUEST as the username, leave the password BLANK and click OK. If you've already entered listings, you may not see this first prompt.
  3. The next screen you see will provide a link to AIM Entries. Click there.
  4. Another access box appears, enabling a secure environment for your listings. This time you're prompted for another username and password. If this is your first time accessing the system pick any username you would like to use for data entry purposes. Please note this username is not part of the listing in the guide. Use a password up to six characters in length. Please make note of the username and password for future reference. If you entered listings last year you still need to follow this step. We do not maintain usernamse and passwords from previous years.
  5. First time users for this year will be prompted to continue. Click OK. If you are not a first time user this year, and the "first time user" prompt appears, click CANCEL and re-enter your Username and Password. If you can't remember either of these, please contact John Engel (john.engel@pcae.k12.mn.us).
  6. First time users will begin their first entry. Fill in the 5 pages of the entry form and be as complete and thorough as possible. Returning users will see a list of previously entered program listings. You can click on the arrow to the left of any entry for additional editing, OR if you choose to duplicate a listing. To enter a new listing, click on the Add AIM Listing button at the bottom of the page. Editing previously entered listings is handled as one page, so you'll have to use the browser's scrolling features to see the entire listing.
  7. While entering information on the listing pages, use the PAGE buttons at the bottom of each screen to navigate rather than the BACK or FORWARD buttons of your browser. Clicking the ENTER button on page 5 will complete your listing entry. Clicking the CANCEL and DELETE button will end your listing entry without saving.
  8. To delete a previously entered listing, select the listing from the list mentioned in step 6 above. Click the arrow to edit and click the DELETE ENTIRE RECORD button at the bottom of the listing. This will remove your listing entry entirely.
  9. To end your session, click on the CANCEL buttons until you've returned to the menu page mentioned in step 3 above. Simply quit your browser program or move on to another web site.

You can begin entering your listings by clicking here: AIM database

The deadline for program listing entry is March 26, 2010!

Thanks for taking the time to enter your listings online. Again, if you have any questions regarding the online database, please contact John Engel at john.engel@pcae.k12.mn.us
