Dame Julie Andrews Visits Perpich Center!

May 12, 2011 was an exciting day at the Perpich Center. Dame Julie Andrews came
to our Black Box Theater!

8-year-old Maggie Hayes of Ramsey presented Dame Andrews with flowers. Maggie will play the youngest Von Trapp child in an Anoka High School performance
of "The Sound of Music."

Arts High School Senior Ben Schultz, 18, of Isle, Minnesota, introduced Julie Andrews and asked questions from those submitted by his classmates. Ben's admiration for
Julie Andrews prompted him to reach out with her managers--again and again!-- in an effort to bring her to the Perpich Center. His perserverence paid off!

The legendary entertainer, humanitarian and children's book author spoke to Arts High School students, faculty, staff and special guests.

Julie Andrews was greeted by PCAE Executive Director Sue Mackert.
