Understanding World Cultures: Sowu Dance

Giving ThanksThis online resource features research-based tools and strategies that help teachers and teaching artists develop incremental, customized learning opportunities for students as well as video clips showing what this lesson looks like in real-world classrooms. This interactive model also includes tools and resources that students may access as part of a culturally relevant and inclusive curriculum in dance.

Understanding World Cultures: Sowu Dance has been developed in partnership with Ellis Middle School in Austin, MN, and funded in part under the auspices of the Learning Innovations Council with funding from the University of Minnesota and MnSCU.
